Memorial Regional Hospital, our cherished sponsor, has put all of our meetings on hold for our protection due to the corona virus. They will update us immediately when they determine it will be safe for us to meet once again. Until that time we thank them for all they do to assist ostomates on their healing journey. Our telephone service as well as telephone visitation will continue without interruption.

Our meetings, at which approximately 50 to 70 members and friends attend, are designed to promote camaraderie, support and education. In order to do this we start out from 1 to 1:30 PM with our delicious Chat’n’Chew time where we enjoy wonderful refreshments donated by friends. Fresh seasonal fruit, bagels and cream cheese, gorgeous huge muffins, coffee, tea, juices and milk are all available.
We also sit at designated tables to share with others who have undergone our same type of surgery. Thus we have separate tables for urostomates, their friends and families; ileostomates, their friends and families; and finally for colostomates with their friends and families. In this way during our informal Chat time you can discuss challenges that are particular to your form of surgery with others who for many years have been down the same road. The helpful hints passed around during this time of sharing are invaluable.
At 1:30 PM we proceed to having a wonderful guest speaker. Our speakers include the most prominent physicians and surgeons in Broward County, Ostomy Nurses (WOCN’s), Therapists, Pharmacists, famous ostomates and ostomy manufacturer’s representatives who provide samples and demonstrate their company’s new ostomy supplies. Please join us for an uplifting and informative time. We would love to see you!
